Sectionals to be Broadcast Live

U.S. Figure Skating and icenetwork.com announced today that icenetwork.com will broadcast simultaneous live coverage of all three sectional championships on Sunday, Nov. 11, and Monday, Nov. 12. All sectional coverage will be available to icenetwork.com Season Pass subscribers.

A full broadcast schedule will be posted following the conclusion of the last three regional championships this weekend. Like previous seasons, video of every competitor will be available on-demand to icenetwork.com Season Pass subscribers.

I examined US Figure Skating membership information for the 2011-2012 season and determined that the average number of members per club in Ohio is 81. Caroline Nickerson Advances to National Merit Semifinalist

The 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that students entered by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) their Junior year in high school. On September 12, 2012 the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced thenames of the 16,000 High School Seniors who have qualified as Semifinalists.

In February 2013, some 15,000 Semifinalists will be notified that they have advanced to Finalist standing. Finalists are eligible for some 8300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million.
